The Champions League group stage wrap up

This week sees the Champions League group stage end as we reach gameweek 6. After 5 great weeks of football up to this point, we finally will find out who the 16 clubs are to qualify for the knockout rounds. Some groups already have their qualified teams, but there is some fantastic drama promised in some others! The big question for English football is can Tottenham join the rest of the English clubs in the last 16? There’s no better place to watch the action unfold than at a We Love Sport venue. We’ll show all the games and offer 2-4-1 on Heineken products as we do for all of the European gameweeks. All we need you to do is to book a table & claim your offer! Just download the We Love Sport app to claim your offer. Full instructions on how to claim and promotional T&C's can be found here This week’s key fixture Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City are all through and it's left to Tottenham to make it a full house. For that reason, Spurs are again the key fixture of the week as they travel to France to face Marseille.

It's not been straight forward for Spurs this year in the Champions League. It was a tough group they were entered into, but I'm sure Antonio Conte was hoping that he'd be in the knockout round already by now. But, that's not the case. If not for an offside call in the last minute against Sporting, Spurs would already be through, but it goes down to the final day. It is in Tottenham's hands to qualify. One thing is for sure, it's like a cup final and the tensions are going to be through the roof. It is the only group where all four teams can still qualify, so Marseille are not going to lie down easy. The other British-based teams in action
Liverpool host Napoli who are unbeaten in the tournament this year. They cannot stop scoring and did not look back after they beat the Redmen 4-1 back in September. Now, Liverpool welcome the Italians, hoping to stop them in their tracks and will need to beat them by four to top the group. Not impossible, but not likely.

Chelsea's Champions League fortunes have changed. They're through with a game to spare and with a win over Dinamo Zagreb, they will top the group! Many games unbeaten in Europe for Potter's men and they can look forward to a strong second half of the season once the World Cup is over.

Manchester City have their group topped and they host Sevilla who have already been knocked out. It's a relative practice game for both sides at this point, but City will be hoping to pile on the misery.

Celtic travel to Spain to face holders Real Madrid. When these two sides met back in September, Celtic performed very well and earned plaudits and if not for their missed chances, could've shocked the Madrid team. But, that ended up being the story of their tournament. Over 60 shots on goal with only 3 scored. At least they have a brilliant away day to enjoy.

It's not been fun for Celtic, but it's been horrific for Rangers. They host Ajax as the worst team in Champions League history already and another loss will only make it worse. A far cry from the Europa League now. Rangers need a 5 goal win to get to the Europa League and considering they've only had 9 shots on target in the last 5 games, don't bet on it.

The best of the rest AC Milan host RB Salzburg in the other game in Chelsea's group. Salzburg need a win at the San Siro to get through, whilst AC Milan need just a point.

Frankfurt and Sporting clash in Portugal with both teams vying for a place in the knockout round. The plus side for both of these teams is that if Tottenham win, then they're at least guaranteed European football in 2023, but of course that is not what either team want to settle for.

Shakhtar and RB Leipzig meet in a must win game for the Ukrainian side. Leipzig's win over Real Madrid put them in the drivers seat, but it's not all over just yet for Donetsk.
