We may be deep into the first rounds of the Euros but excitement is already building for the return of the Premier League. The new season's fixtures were announced this morning and what an opening weekend we've been gifted!  It's a London derby and a real test for newly promoted Brentford on the opening weekend of their first-ever Premier League season. They play host to Mikel Arteta's Arsenal, who will be hoping for a much-improved showing in 2021/22. Spurs welcome the reigning champions, Manchester City, as Pep Guardiola's men take a trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Manchester United host Leeds, in what is sure to be a fierce battle after an impressive season for both clubs last year. Crystal Palace make the trip to Stamford Bridge against Champions League holders Chelsea in another London derby. Newly promoted Norwich and Watford, returning to the Premier League after one season away, face Liverpool and Aston Villa respectively.

Challenging start for the Champions.

It's not the happy return that Daniel Farke's men will have wanted down at Carrow Road. The Canaries open their campaign with Liverpool, Manchester City, Leicester and Arsenal in a really tough first few fixtures. While Man City may well be the favourites to lift the trophy once again, the opening games for the Champions are not a pretty sight. In their first seven games of the season, City face Spurs, Arsenal, Leicester, Chelsea and Liverpool with games against Norwich and Southampton mixed in to provide some extra room for damage. The final two rounds of last season's Premier League saw the return of some fans to the stands with even more returning for the Euros games at Wembley. It will have been over 18 months since capacity crowds have been allowed at Premier League fixtures come August and we all hope things can return back to normal on the terraces in time.
