The first PPV boxing event post lockdown is upon us as British Heavyweight Dillian Whyte takes on Russian Alexander Povetkin at Matchroom Fight Club in Essex.

The fight is scheduled for 12 rounds in the Heavyweight division and the contest is for the WBC heavyweight championship of the world.

Alexander Povetkin is currently ranked number 9 by the WBC and 6 by the RING in the heavyweight division. He holds a record of 35 wins, 2 losses and 1 draw.

Povetkin seems to have the power over Whyte and is the more experienced fighter but age (40) is not on his side. Whyte meanwhile has a height & reach advantage over Alexander Povetkin.

Whyte vs Povetkin takes place on Saturday 22nd August 2020 at Matchrooms Fight Camp in Brentwood, Essex.

Coverage is set to take place from 7pm with the main event scheduled for 10:30pm.

The fight will be televised on Sky Sports Box Office via a subscription fee but will also be broadcast live in selected We Love Sport pubs and bars.
