Ashes City Guide: The Oval, London

The final test of The Ashes will be played at The Oval as they head back to the capital city. Despite a few weeks of cricket and partying, it’s not stopping just yet and is going out with a bang!

London has a plethora of places to go, and we’ve created a brief guide for you to follow for this final test. Ideally, this is a big celebration in the city!

Barmy Army HQ - Clubhouse 5

Just like with the Lord’s test, the Barmy Army HQ is the great Clubhouse 5. The newest sports bar in Leicester Square is the place to be. Head there after every game for some food, drink and quite frankly, a party! After the day’s action, there’s always an after party at Clubhouse 5, so head on down.

Keep your eye out for any events too, as there’s bound to be a party here for the Fifth Test.

How to get to Clubhouse 5

Closest to the Ground - Duke of Sussex

The Duke of Sussex is on your way to the ground. The classic pub is small and quaint, but that’s no reason to not pop in on your way to The Oval for a few swift pints.

Directions to the Duke of Sussex

Nearest to the station

If you’re heading into London through Victoria Station, then head to Sports Bar and Grill, Victoria. In the station, the bar serves breakfast as well as food all day. Start your day here with a few pints and a breakfast. If you’re leaving that day, hit this spot before jumping on your train!

For groups, pints and parties - bay & bracket

Bay & Bracket is a great pub near the ground. It’s the place to be if you’re looking for a party atmosphere nearby. Spacious with a great range of drink options, make sure you and your pals visit here if you’re looking to keep the party going on your way to Clubhouse 5!

continuing the party - be at one

As mentioned in the Lord’s guide, there’s Be At One’s all over the city of London! With that, head to the Be At One by Clubhouse 5. A few cocktails to tip you over, then get to Clubhouse 5 to continue the party in Leicester Square.
