Ashes City Guide: Birmingham

It’s the first Ashes series since 2019 and we want to make sure we’re celebrating it with a bang! A warm and hot summer is on the cards. The Ashes is a celebration of cricket and we can’t wait for it to begin, no matter which series the test is in!

With that, we’ve put together a guide of pubs and bars for Ashes fans to enjoy in each of the test cities. We’re starting with Birmingham – where The Ashes begins for the First Test!

Barmy Army HQ - Walkabout

Walkabout Birmingham is the Barmy Army HQ and it’s also closest to the station! As its the Barmy Army fan base, expect it to be lively throughout the course of the test. A great atmosphere, it’s the place to be if you’re in Birmingham. Make sure you head to Walkabout every night after the action for the after party!

Not only that, Walkabout is playing host to the Ultimate Ashes Party on June 16th – click here to buy!

Food and Families - The Brasshouse

Of course, The Ashes isn’t JUST about drinking and partying, especially for those with young families. We do have a solution! The Brasshouse in Birmingham does an excellent array of food. If you’re wanting to take the family somewhere before or after the match, then here’s the place to be. A more chilled vibe for The Ashes.

By the ground - Twelfth Man

A classic old school pub, the Twelfth Man is the place to be for some pre drinks right by the ground. A big beer garden and right next to the ground, be sure to pop in and have a swift drink or too before or after the day’s cricket. Be aware though, they don’t serve food.

If you’re wanting to carry on the celebration into the night, we’ve got you sorted. Head to Reflex to party on into the night. Some old school bangers to keep the excitement up and get you through the painful wait for the next day of cricket.
