LA Chargers
The Chargers, led by Justin Herbert, have gotten healthier on this end of the ball. Their offensive line has looked strong in two games so far and the combination of Austin Ekeler and Keenan Allen has heavily impacted the pass and run game. Their defense also has several weapons with Derwin James and Joey Bosa wreaking havoc across the field.Kansas City Chiefs
As for the Chiefs, well, they have Patrick Mahomes leading the charge. He has been unstoppable during the month of September, though he did lose his first career game in this month last week. Had it not been for a horrible Clyde Edwards Helaire fumble with just over a minute remaining in the game, Kansas City would have run the clock down and kicked the game-winning field goal as time expired. Still, Mahomes and company should get themselves back on track here and be more motivated than ever. Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce form one of the most unstoppable duos in the league right now as well. Even their offensive line found a way to improve after last season. The Chiefs have struggled a little bit defensively though, despite having playmakers like Tyrann Mathieu on that side of the ball. These two squads know each other very well, and that familiarity usually ends up with these games being close until the very end. I wouldn’t expect any different in this matchup with each of these teams trying desperately to get themselves back into the win column. So, who comes away with the win? Personally, I would roll with the Chiefs in this game. Not only has it been nearly impossible for Mahomes to lose two games back-to-back but doing so during the month that he has consistently dominated just sounds insane. The Chargers are a phenomenal team with a great new head coach but after falling to the Cowboys they must be shaken up. After all, that was a game they could have easily won and yet were stifled by Dallas’ surprisingly talented defense. Kansas City will take this game, but it won’t be by a large margin that’s for sure. Division rivalries are always intense and heated between both teams and they usually end up being fantastic games. Combine that with the insane amount of talent that is going to be gracing the field and you got yourself a can’t miss performance. Who wouldn’t want to experience a game like this?
